News About Town: Matthews Fire & EMS have responded to a handful of active fires lately. Recently the team paired up with the Wesley Chapel Fire Department to put out a fire at a single wide on Potters Road. Wesley Chapel issued an important reminder that may save the life of a firefighter:

It is against the law to drive over any fire department hose line that is in the roadway. While on scene a citizen drove over our supply hose while crews were operating inside the building. [Union County Sheriff’s Office] did issue a ticket. We want to take this time to remind citizens that not only are Fire Department lives dependent on this supply hose, but so are victims. Please be patient with our crews or consequences could occur.
