Officer Derek Bare attended South Piedmont Community College for Basic Law Enforcement training after serving in the Army.
News Around Town: Carolina Ruggerfest was held at the Matthews Sportsplex this past weekend. Hosted by the North Carolina Youth Rugby Union, the event brought in teams from 13 different states. Rugby matches were held on nine fields over the course of two days. According to NC Youth Rugby, 90 teams played 230 matches for more than 8,000 spectators.
